Accountant I
Job Description:
The Accountant I supports the accounting function by performing routine accounting tasks and assisting with the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. This role contributes to department objectives by ensuring financial data is complete, timely, and maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures. The position works closely with senior accounting staff to support month‑end close activities, reconciliations, and audits. The Accountant I role is well‑suited for an early‑career professional seeking to build foundational accounting knowledge and experience.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare and post routine journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly close activities by compiling data and supporting account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Review transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with guidance from senior staff.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and data.
• Support basic financial reporting and analysis as assigned.
• Collaborate with accounting team members to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance, or a related discipline; or related experience, including internships or cooperative education, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred:
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Progress toward professional accounting certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Ability to analyze detailed information with accuracy and consistency.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Essential Mental and Physical Functions:
• Ability to apply basic analytical and problem ‑ solving skills.
• Frequent use of a computer and ability to remain seated for extended periods.
• Ability to focus on detailed financial data for sustained periods of time.
• Occasional lifting or carrying of files or office materials up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to manage routine tasks with guidance and supervision.
Work Environment:
Perform all tasks on ‑ site in a professional office environment.
• Work is primarily sedentary with regular use of office equipment.
• Regular interaction and collaboration with accounting and finance team members.

Pay Range:
$54,156.00 - $66,191.00
