Position Overview

ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking an IT Support Technician that will be based out of our Burnaby, B.C. location. The IT Support Technician will be responsible for frontline IT support and endpoint management across the organization. This role ensures users have reliable access to systems and equipment through timely helpdesk support, standardized hardware deployment, and effective asset management.

Responsibilities

Helpdesk & User Support

  • Provide Tier 1 technical support to end users across hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Ensure timely user access to systems, applications, and network resources.
  • Manage, track, and prioritize support requests through the ticketing system to meet established SLAs.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Tier 2 support in accordance with support procedures.

Hardware & Asset Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, configuration, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for all IT hardware and endpoints.
  • Standardize hardware configurations and setup processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.

System Administration

  • Support user account administration, including onboarding, offboarding, access changes, and permissions management.
  • Assist the IT team with routine system maintenance and operational tasks.
  • Administer, track, and support cybersecurity awareness training programs to promote organizational security best practices.

Documentation & User Enablement

  • Develop, maintain, and update IT documentation, including SOPs, how-to guides, and common troubleshooting resources.
  • Create and deliver end-user training and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve system adoption and reduce recurring issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, desktop support, or field technician roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Windows operating systems, network connectivity issues, and common printers and peripherals.
  • Hands-on experience using ticketing systems and IT asset management tools to track incidents, requests, and hardware lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for resolving issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to local facilities as required (approximately 10%).
