Network DevOps Engineer

Payrate:

$82.00 - $85.00/hr.
Summary:

• We are looking for a hands-on Network DevOps Contractor. The primary objective is to execute network automation tasks across our multi-cloud footprint (AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI). You will join the Network Infrastructure Services team to build, deploy, and maintain standardized network modules, ensuring our environment stays agile and secure.
• Network Engineering team is responsible for architecting, building, automating, and managing our Global Network Infrastructure in the Datacenter and all three major public cloud providers.
• As a Senior Network Engineer, you will work with talented colleagues on challenging projects within the TechOps Infrastructure.

• This role will be mainly responsible for managing and supporting Network Infrastructure in AWS, Azure & GCP Gov Clouds used for all Federal development and hosting services.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and support all Network & Security Infrastructure running on AWS, GCP & Azure Clouds.
• Responsible for ensuring network stability and performance. On Premises and Public Cloud networks.
• Provide support for network infrastructure problems by monitoring the team’s support queue, troubleshooting, and diagnosing problems, identifying the root cause of critical issues, and ensuring corrective action is taken following problem identification.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of extensive network engineering and experience in architecture, designing, and implementing enterprise (Data center/Public Clouds) at scale using industry-standard networking solutions.
• Proficient in any ( AWS, Azure, and GCP) Public Cloud platforms. Public Cloud Network Certifications are a plus. (at least one cloud exp. Is needed)
• Understanding of Enterprise Network design, including Data Center, Campus, Public Cloud, and Global WAN connectivity
• Understanding of Networking technologies: IPv4/IPv6, BGP/MBGP, VPN, L2 switching, and VxLAN.
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience for multiple hardware vendors, including Cisco IOS, NX OS, ASR, Meraki, Broadcom, Mellanox, Palo Alto Networks, and Fortinet is a plus.
• Experience with Load Balancers, Citrix NetScaler preferred, AVI Load Balancer, NGINX, and HA proxy.
• Knowledge of network layer security, including Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, 802.1.x, Network Authentication Systems, and VPN technologies.
• Automation Skills. Python, Terraform.

Must Have Skills:

• Terraform (IaC) - core skill, non-negotiable
• AWS Networking (hands-on) - VPC, routing, TGW, SG
• Networking fundamentals - BGP, routing, firewalls
• Python (automation + APIs)
• Git/GitHub (PRs, branching)
• Multi-cloud connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

• CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
• Multi-cloud exposure (Azure, GCP, OCI)
• Network-as-Code environments
• 1Enterprise-scale experience

Technical Skills:

• Experience: 5-8 years in Network DevOps or Cloud Networking.
• Cloud Environments: Hands-on experience configuring any of the below:
• AWS: VPC, Security Groups, Transit Gateway, Route53.
• Azure: VNET, NSG, Virtual WAN.
• GCP/OCI: Basic networking constructs (VCN, DRG, Shared VPC).
• Terraform: Intermediate to Advanced (must understand state management and multi-provider blocks).
• Python: Strong scripting skills for API interaction (boto3, requests, etc.).
• Git: Daily proficiency with GitHub (PRs, branching, resolving merge conflicts).
• Networking Foundations: Solid understanding of BGP, routing tables, and firewalling (Palo Alto).

Pay Transparency:
*The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:
$82.00 - $85.00 /hour
. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
