About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our International Card Tech team, focusing on backend development. This role is pivotal in developing and enhancing customer management capabilities for our international cardholders. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in software development, technical design, and architecture, working in a collaborative environment that values innovation and excellence. As a senior technical leader, you will not only contribute to building robust and scalable systems but also serve as a technical mentor and influencer within the team. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud-native solutions, adopting open source technologies, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerization to deliver high-quality products rapidly to market. This position offers a unique chance to shape the future of international banking services and improve customer experiences worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go. A strong background in application and data architecture, design, and development is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is highly preferred, along with familiarity with other cloud services like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud. Candidates should demonstrate previous experience mentoring junior and intermediate developers, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Participating actively in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Leading technical design and development efforts for cross-platform, fault-tolerant application systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.
- Driving continuous improvement in the developer experience by identifying gaps in existing frameworks and tools and contributing to their enhancement.
- Establishing and promoting engineering best practices, including code review standards, documentation, and testing procedures.
- Providing technical expertise and problem-solving support, defining standards, and ensuring adherence to best practices across projects.
- Owning architecture decisions, applying high-level design methodologies, and contributing to system architecture and design documentation.
- Mentoring junior and intermediate team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
