Ecommerce Inventory & Logistics Manager

A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking a
Logistics & Inventory Management Manager
to oversee domestic distribution and inventory operations for a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organization. This role supports retail and eCommerce order fulfillment by managing inventory flow, coordinating third‑party logistics (3PL) partners, and ensuring compliant, timely product delivery.
The Logistics & Inventory Management Manager serves as the primary liaison between internal teams, external logistics partners, and freight carriers. This position plays a critical role in inventory accuracy, carrier performance, small‑order fulfillment, bespoke process execution, and data‑driven operational decision‑making while conveying a professional and solutions‑oriented approach across all interactions.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee domestic distribution operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant shipments to retail and eCommerce customers
• Serve as the primary point of contact for third‑party logistics (3PL) distribution partners
• Manage inbound and outbound product flow, including coordination with Asia‑based partners in collaboration with the Hong Kong office
• Monitor freight carrier performance and negotiate service levels, contracts, and rates
• Track, reconcile, and maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple distribution centers
• Align inventory placement with production schedules, sales forecasts, and seasonal demand
• Support small‑order and small‑batch fulfillment requirements
• Research inventory discrepancies and support retailer compliance and chargeback resolution
• Ensure compliance with packaging, labeling, routing, and shipping documentation requirements
• Support retail and eCommerce operational processes, including custom and bespoke workflows
• Work with electronic integrations (EIs), EDI, and order data exchanges between systems
• Utilize advanced Excel reporting and analysis to support inventory and logistics decision‑making
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams including sales, operations, and finance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Must‑Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, inventory management, or 3PL operations
• Prior experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
• Experience supporting retail and eCommerce fulfillment environments
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, domestic freight, and logistics operations
• Experience managing 3PL partners and freight carriers
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
• VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
• Pivot tables
• Data analysis and reporting
• Experience working within ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central preferred)
• Familiarity with EDI and electronic integrations (EIs)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

• Experience supporting omnichannel or wholesale distribution environments
• Background in high‑growth or customized (bespoke) operational workflows
• Experience managing fulfillment for small or specialty product orders
