SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Supply Chain Manager at Applied Companies, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall supply chain, logistics strategy, and operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. In addition, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors. A Supply Chain Manager will analyze and take any steps necessary to improve the overall productivity of the supply chain. In addition, the position will develop accurate demand forecasts in coordination with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Finance Departments. You will also manage the existing supply chain department and review orders to maximize performance against internal and customer-driven goals. Additionally, this role is responsible for the successful integration and daily management of the company’s ERP/MRP system.

WHAT YOU’RE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Oversee all activities of the purchasing, shipping/receiving and inventory control departments.
- Reviewing and updating supply chain practices in line with company policies, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies; monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in the supply base, purchased material quality and most importantly competitive pricing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers including engaging them in how to reduce our costs through design changes, alternate products, tolerance relief, etc.
- Analyze supply chain data to solve issues or identify alternative plans.
- Support company materials needs with hands-on purchasing.
- Ensure purchasing quality and on-time delivery goals are achieved.
- Support bids and proposals by providing priced bills of material.
- Ability to manage heavy workload during peak periods and support requirements in a fast/high paced manufacturing environment, requiring quick turnarounds.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:
The Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the COO and directly manages the staff of the Purchasing, Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving Departments. The Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager must also closely communicate/coordinate with the Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality Departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years’ experience in purchasing and inventory management, with exposure to a manufacturing environment.
- Have an excellent understanding of supply chain processes.
- Experience in sheet metal, HVAC & electrical components, fasteners, and defense aerospace purchasing activities.
- Must have technical aptitude to fully understand the product and component needs that are being purchased.
- Tough and driven negotiator.
- Managerial experience is a necessity. Must operate using a “hands on” and “detail oriented” style.
- Must be self-motivated, challenge and achievement oriented, assertive, and decisive.
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standard.
- Proficient in Windows Office Programs and experience with ERP Systems.
- US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holders) due to Government ITAR regulations.
DESIRABLE:
- Bilingual a plus
- Experience in a small but fast-growing company
