Job Description:

The Test Engineering Intern will work within the Process Science team to conduct essential product testing and evaluation. This role will help to accelerate the development of systems and technologies used to create life-changing therapies worldwide. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world product testing in a regulated, fast-paced environment and is designed to complement academic learning with practical experience. Located on-site at our Clearwater, FL facility, you will be part of a dynamic and growing culture that values innovation and teamwork. This role will also work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to ensure the highest standards of product performance and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation & Testing: Assist with operating laboratory-grade and industrial centrifuge equipment to execute planned experiments.
  • Data Collection & Documentation: Collect, organize, and record test data accurately using Excel and standard documentation practices. Maintain clear and organized lab notebooks and test records.
  • Data Review & Analysis: Support analysis of test results by summarizing datasets, identifying trends, and preparing tables, charts, or summaries for review by cross-functional teams.
  • Troubleshooting Support: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues with sensors, test instruments, or laboratory equipment.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiarity with common laboratory tools such as pipettes, mixers, centrifuges, microscopes, scales, and graduated cylinders.
  • Comfort working with data in Excel, including extended test datasets.
  • Strong understanding of units of measure and unit conversion.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to keep organized records.
  • Logical thinking and curiosity when investigating unexpected test results.
  • Good communication: verbal and written form.

Required Education and Experience :

  • Currently enrolled student starting Junior year through Master’s program in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, life sciences, or a related discipline.

Work Environment :

  • The team member’s essential job duties require spending time onsite in a test lab. PPE including eye and ear protection may be required.

Position Type :

  • This is an internship position expecting flexible hours ranging from 15-40 hours per week.

Physical Demands :

  • Performing the role frequently uses close vision, speech, hearing, frequent standing, use of hand tools and dexterity to work with equipment. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, over 50 pounds with assistance.
