Bestgate Engineering is currently hiring for a Tools Engineer to support automation across requirements management, configuration management, and change management processes. This role focuses on building and maintaining automated solutions that improve how teams manage requirements, link source documentation, and align architectures across projects.

The Engineer will partner closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to identify, design, and implement efficient tool-based solutions that align with approved processes. This includes integrating automation, infrastructure, and productivity tools to streamline workflows and enhance overall system performance.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Automate requirements management, change management, and configuration management processes
• Develop solutions to manage requirements, link source documents, and support architecture alignment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement optimal automation solutions
• Integrate automation tools with infrastructure and productivity platforms
• Support IPAM subnet management, workflow management, and front door request vetting
• Perform space alignment for registration requests and routing services
• Monitor burn rate and improve efficiency of routing services and subnet utilization for cloud environments
• Develop, tailor, and maintain technical documentation for software productivity tools
• Provide consulting, training, and hands-on support to project personnel and key stakeholders
• Perform regular backups of tool databases, datasets, and associated files

Basic Qualifications:

• Fourteen (14) years combined experience as a software engineer, system engineer, system administrator or configuration management engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
• Experience supporting automation of engineering or IT workflows
• Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, and change management processes.
• Experience working with infrastructure or productivity tools in a collaborative environment.Bestgate Engineering is a leading software and systems engineering firm supporting military and government customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $155,287.42 - $230,000.00 per year
