About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale data initiative focused on bringing critical data ingestion and analytics capabilities in-house. This role will play a key part in improving data ownership, governance, and operational control, reducing reliance on third-party systems.
You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and data engineering teams, helping define requirements, shape data solutions, and ensure delivery of scalable, analytics-ready datasets.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth across data platforms, analytics, and governance, with experience operating in a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Functional Analysis
- Partner with stakeholders to define requirements for data extraction and processing workflows
- Identify and document key data elements (e.g., identifiers, attributes, relationships)
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications
- Support full delivery lifecycle including requirements, validation, and UAT
Data & Technical Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data engineers to design and validate Snowflake-based solutions
- Contribute to SQL-driven data models and analytics-ready datasets
- Support ingestion of structured and semi-structured data from external sources
- Assist with data design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Utilize Python for data analysis or transformation where appropriate
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
Data Governance & Controls
- Support implementation of strong data governance and security practices
- Define and document data ownership, lineage, and access controls
- Ensure alignment with financial services regulatory standards
- Help establish internal data controls to reduce reliance on external vendors
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst
- Strong background in financial services (asset management, banking, private equity, etc.)
- Proven experience supporting data platforms, warehousing, or analytics initiatives
Core Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake
- Advanced SQL and strong data modeling capabilities
- Solid understanding of data warehouse architecture
- Experience working in cloud-based environments
- Knowledge of data design and performance optimization
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with Power BI (dashboards, datasets, reporting)
Data Governance & Security
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks
- Experience with data security, access controls, and compliance
- Knowledge of data lineage, metadata, and ownership models
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to tax data or tax-related systems
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or analytics accelerators
- Experience with Power BI AI features or Snowflake AI capabilities
- Experience supporting data insourcing or vendor transition initiatives
\*\*The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $170,000\*\*
