Head of Partnerships & Revenue
About the Role
We are hiring a
Head of Partnerships & Revenue
to scale our B2B revenue engine — starting in Boston and expanding nationally. This role is responsible for turning our community, platform, and cultural influence into structured, repeatable partnerships.
This is a
builder and closer role.
You will step into active opportunities on day one, converting relationships into revenue while building the systems that scale it. We already have a base of active partnerships, and this role will also focus on strengthening, expanding, and evolving those relationships as the model continues to grow.
In this phase, you own the full lifecycle — from pipeline through close through ongoing partner management. You will work directly with the founder to convert high-potential relationships into structured, revenue-generating partnerships.
In the first 3–6 months, this role will be highly hands-on, personally driving deals, building a pipeline, and refining systems that will later scale.
At this stage, all leadership is expected to engage deeply with the membership community. We are building something rooted in community, and that requires leaders who are connected to it.
This role is open to remote candidates. We prioritize hiring the strongest candidate regardless of location.
What You Will Own
Corporate & Institutional Partnerships
- Develop and close annual and multi-year partnerships
- Design partnership models tied to talent, retention, and brand engagement
Platform & Member Access Monetization
- Translate membership reach and engagement into B2B offerings
- Partner with Growth and Community leadership on pricing and packaging
Signature Event Sponsorship
- Lead sponsorship strategy and sales
- Structure tiered packages and secure multi-year commitments
City & Public Sector Partnerships
- Build partnerships with city and state stakeholders
- Navigate long-cycle, multi-stakeholder deals
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- 7–12 years in partnerships, business development, or revenue roles
- Proven track record of owning and closing B2B deals end-to-end
- Experience building a pipeline from zero in an early-stage or high-growth environment
- Experience in structuring multi-year or tiered agreements
- Strong commercial instinct — ability to price, package, and position value
- Ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Experience working closely with a founder or small team
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to manage pipeline and track performance
Preferred
- Experience selling into corporate, institutional, or public sector buyers
- Background in community, media, or membership-based businesses
- Experience translating intangible value (community trust, audience, brand) into revenue
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary + commission.
This is a builder role with meaningful ownership. As the company grows, we intend to include equity participation as part of how we reward contribution and impact, and we are open to discussing this.
Benefits include:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Unlimited PTO
- Remote/hybrid flexibility
- Full access to While Black membership, events, and programming

About Boston While Black
Boston While Black is a leading membership network and social enterprise serving Black professionals in Boston.
Over the past five years, we have built a highly engaged community connecting thousands of members and reaching 100,000+ people annually through our digital platform, in-person experiences, and city-based programming.
We are building the infrastructure for belonging for Black professionals because while cities offer opportunity, they often lack the systems that help people feel connected and stay. Our model connects members not only to each other, but to the cultural and economic ecosystems of the cities they live in.
What began in Boston is now scaling into
*While Black*
— a repeatable, multi-city platform that uses technology to support human connection wherever people live, work, or travel.
