AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (VDI / FileCloud / GovCloud)
Our state government client is seeking a highly skilled
AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
to support and manage critical cloud platforms within the
AWS GovCloud environment
.
This role will serve as the
primary administrator
for AWS infrastructure, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and
FileCloud
, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer
AWS GovCloud infrastructure
supporting enterprise applications
- Support and maintain
AWS VDI environments (Workspaces / Virtual Desktops)
- Administer
FileCloud (Linux / MongoDB)
including onboarding, troubleshooting, and support
- Perform
system monitoring, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Ensure
security, compliance, and reliability
of cloud systems
- Troubleshoot
complex distributed systems, connectivity, and performance issues
- Support deployments, server builds, and cloud migrations
- Participate in
on-call rotation (nights/weekends)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience with:
- AWS Infrastructure Administration
- AWS VDI / Workspaces
- FileCloud Administration
Strong experience with:
- Linux & Windows systems
- Networking, storage, and system architecture
- Cloud security best practices
Experience with:
- Distributed systems & cloud architecture
- Troubleshooting complex environments
- Monitoring & performance tuning tools
Familiarity with:
- Azure or GCP (nice to have)
- Java / .NET environments
Strong communication and ability to work independently
Nice to Have
- AWS GovCloud experience
- Experience with
deployment automation tools
- Background in
enterprise system administration or consulting
Work Requirements
Hybrid work environment: 3
days/week
Must be comfortable with
on-call support
