THE ROLE

The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) is a unique national military university that provides the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) with exemplary officers to serve Canada.

As an Operations Manager (Programs/Services) at CFMWS within our Personnel Support Programs (PSP) team, you will be at the forefront of ensuring smooth day-to-day operations covering areas such as messes and corporate services. With a commitment to exceptional customer service, you will play a crucial role in delivering programs and services to your clients - members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families.

In this role, you will collaborate with your team and external stakeholders to ensure any programs and services operate seamlessly. When operational issues arise, your swift intervention will identify and implement necessary solutions. Adaptability and the ability to pivot quickly in response to changing client needs are essential.

As an Operations Manager, you will be skilled in managing budgets, managing expenses and developing business and marketing strategies. You will oversee fundraising activities, ensuring all contributions are accurately managed and meet organizational standards. You will lead event and project coordination initiatives that contribute to strong service outcomes. You will also provide guidance on policy and manage procurement and contracting to maintain effective operations. As a leader, you understand the importance of communication for success and will foster effective dialogue within your team while adeptly handling any conflicts that may arise.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Recreation/Sports Administration or a related field AND some years of experience in a related field

Experience

In planning, coordinating and managing business operations

In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation

In preparing marketing strategies

In business planning

In managing facilities

In personnel administration

In budget administration

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English and French) Essential

Reading: Advanced

Writing: Functional

Oral: Advanced
