SR Lead Azure Data Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Data Engineer
with strong expertise in
data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and Azure data platforms
. The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions, lead legacy platform migrations, and support end‑to‑end data integration initiatives for enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouses and data marts using best‑in‑class data modeling techniques.
• Evaluate source data systems and define data integration and migration strategies.
• Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and Databricks.
• Develop and orchestrate end‑to‑end data workflows within Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Perform large‑scale migrations from Netezza to Azure, translating SQL, stored procedures, and ELT logic to Azure‑optimized T‑SQL, Synapse SQL, and Spark SQL.
• Optimize MPP data warehouse performance, including distribution strategies, data skew reduction, and query tuning.
• Implement incremental loads, full loads, and CDC patterns for enterprise data platforms.
• Design and implement slowly changing dimensions and complex business transformations.
• Perform data validation, data quality checks, profiling, cleansing, and data reconciliation across multiple source systems.
• Support data operations using Informatica PowerCenter, including mappings, workflows, and performance tuning.
• Write and optimize complex SQL, PL/SQL, and T‑SQL across Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza, Hadoop, and DB2.
• Develop Unix shell scripts and automation for batch processing and operational support.
• Create technical design documents, transformation logic, and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, onshore and offshore teams, and provide mentoring and technical guidance.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS, Databricks, Azure SQL
• Extensive experience with Netezza, MPP data warehouses, and large‑scale migrations
• Proven expertise in ETL tools, especially Informatica PowerCenter
• Strong SQL skills across Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza, and Hadoop
• Experience with performance tuning, CDC, incremental loads, and SCDs
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

The annual salary for this position is between $125,000 - $138,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
