Postdoctoral Research Scientist
The Yang Lab studies fundamental mechanisms of cell-cycle regulation in normal and cancer cells, with a focus on how dysregulated cell-cycle control contributes to tumor heterogeneity and therapeutic resistance. We are seeking a curious, rigorous, and highly motivated postdoctoral Scientist to join our team and lead an exciting, well-supported research project in cell-cycle and cancer biology.
Our approaches
We integrate in vitro , in vivo , and human specimen studies using:
- Live single-cell imaging to track heterogeneous populations, cell-cycle progression, and cancer cell evolution at single-cell resolution
- Single-cell and bulk RNA-seq to define tumor progression and cell-state programs in mouse and human tissues
- Multiplex single-cell and tissue imaging to map diverse cell populations in cell lines and the tumor microenvironment
Prior experience in any of these areas is welcomed but not required .
What you’ll do
- Lead an independent project on cell-cycle regulation and tumor heterogeneity
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results with rigor
- Prepare manuscripts and contribute to grant-supported research aims
- Present findings at internal and external meetings
- Mentor trainees (students/technicians) as appropriate

Minimum Education Requirements:
- PhD or MD/PhD (completed or near completion) in cell biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, computational biology, or a related field
Minimum Skills Required:
- Strong experimental and/or computational skills; a quantitative mindset is a plus
- Demonstrated productivity (e.g., publications, preprints) and clear scientific communication
- Collaborative, proactive, and problem-solving approach to research
