Dasro is looking for a
Procurement Specialist (Non-IT) – Intermediate
for one of its clients in Edmonton, Alberta.

Term:
2026-06-16 to 2026-12-16 (6 months)

Location:
Onsite in Edmonton, AB

Working hours:
7.25-hours/day (08:15 – 16:30, Monday through Friday)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and refine both business and technical requirements, translating them into detailed RFX solicitation documents as needed
  • Support the development of procurement strategies aligned with project objectives and criteria
  • Prepare RFXs, draft associated review documents, and identify potential subprojects requiring separate RFXs for specific vendor services
  • Assist the Department by interpreting RFXs for vendors and drafting formal responses to inquiries
  • Prepare selection methodologies, evaluation plans, mandatory criteria, evaluation schedules, and final award recommendations for RFXs
  • Review vendor bids/proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with required standards
  • Create supporting documentation in accordance with the client’s procurement policy and assist in organizing bidder conferences/vendor presentations
  • Support the debriefing process for unsuccessful vendors and assist in finalizing contracts with selected vendors
  • Conduct post-procurement reviews, compile vendor performance evaluations, and prepare formal evaluation reports
  • Maintain accurate, audit-compliant, and properly filed procurement and contract records on Corporate Purchasing applications/SharePoint sites
  • Create and update contract workspaces, purchase requisitions, and product catalogues on 1GX/Ariba
  • Coach and train junior staff members within the procurement team

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in areas of supply chain, procurement, business or a related field (minimum 2-year diploma; degrees, diplomas, certificates accepted)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience independently performing activities related to RFPs, NRFPs, RFQs, RFIs, negotiations, evaluation, supplier feedback, and contract execution
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role applicable to this position
  • Minimum 4 years of experience coaching and training junior staff members
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Proven ability to organize files, documents, etc

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of SCMP or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 3 years of contract management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience advising stakeholders (internal clients, senior leadership, cross-functional teams)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative cost-benefit analysis
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with trade agreements, Financial Administration Act, FOIP Act, and Public Works Act
