What You’ll Do
We are seeking a Physical Security Solutions Architect to support our Sales and Delivery teams by providing consulting, basic system design, and sales engineering assistance for physical security and low-voltage solutions. This role is designed as a junior / entry-level solutions engineering position with a strong emphasis on learning, collaboration, and growth.
This individual will partner closely with Account Managers, senior engineers, and operations teams to support pre-sales discovery, assist with solution design, create documentation, and help present solutions that align with customer needs.
Primary solution focus areas include video surveillance, access control, intercom systems, and related low-voltage and physical security technologies, with supporting exposure to networking fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sales engineering efforts during the pre-sales process, including participating in customer discovery sessions, taking detailed notes, and documenting requirements
- Assist with basic system design for physical security solutions such as video surveillance, access control, and intercom systems
- Create Bills of Material (BOMs), assist with quote development, and support drafting of Scopes of Work (SOWs) and proposal documentation
- Participate in and assist with site surveys, walk-throughs, and field documentation alongside senior team members
- Develop and maintain Visio diagrams, system layouts, and supporting technical documentation
- Assist with product demonstrations, customer presentations, and solution overviews as needed
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, design engineers, and manufacturer partners to support proposed solutions
- Review and interpret architectural and low-voltage drawings to support design and installation planning
- Support construction documentation and coordination with installers, contractors, and other trades under guidance of senior engineers
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, technologies, and best practices through training and hands-on learning
What You Need
Technical Knowledge Expectations
- Basic understanding of physical security systems, including: video surveillance (IP cameras, storage concepts), access control systems, intercoms and related low-voltage infrastructure
- Foundational networking knowledge, including: PoE concepts, VLAN basics, bandwidth considerations, storage and retention concepts for video systems
- 1–3 years of experience in a related field such as physical security, low-voltage systems, AV, IT or networking support
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, construction, and low-voltage drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Microsoft Visio is preferred
- Experience with D-Tools is a plus
- Willingness to learn, grow, and develop deeper technical and consultative skills
