Junior Web Developer (Python + SQL) – Job Description

Type: Full-time

Location: Atlanta, GA

This position includes 10 weeks of training at Atlanta.

Role Overview

As a Junior Web Developer, you’ll assist in building and maintaining web applications using Python for backend logic and SQL for database management. You’ll work under senior developers and gradually take ownership of features.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain web applications using Python frameworks like Django or Flask

Write clean, efficient, and reusable code

Design, query, and manage databases using SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Build RESTful APIs for frontend integration

Debug issues and fix bugs in existing applications

Collaborate with frontend developers using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Participate in code reviews and team meetings

Optimize application performance and database queries

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of Python programming

Understanding of web frameworks like Django or Flask

Strong fundamentals of SQL (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, etc.)

Familiarity with version control tools like Git

Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

Knowledge of APIs and JSON

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Experience with ORMs like Django ORM or SQLAlchemy

Exposure to cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform

Understanding of deployment and hosting

Basic knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT (or equivalent experience)

Internships or personal projects using Python + SQL
