Sign up to see compensation estimateWe are actively seeking a Corporate Transactions Paralegal with direct experience supporting legal work and contracts, including negotiation, drafting, and review of M&A and deal‑related agreements, who is also fluent in Japanese (reading and speaking). This is a near‑term, full‑time remote opportunity supporting a Fortune 500 global medical device organization through Epiq Counsel.
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support on legal work and commercial contracts, including negotiation, drafting, and review of a variety if agreements including M&A and other deal‑related agreements.
- Review, analyze, and interpret Japanese‑language contracts, with a focus on assignment and re‑assignment provisions.
- Summarize contract findings to inform outreach strategy and next‑step decision‑making for the Japan region.
- Navigate and manage contract data within a Contract Management System (CMS).
- Track contract information and findings using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Collaborate primarily with internal legal stakeholders and Japan / APAC counterparts.
Required Qualifications
- Japanese fluency (reading and speaking) is required.
- Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience, including significant corporate transactions experience supporting: Negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts and M&A and deal‑related agreements.
- Hands‑on experience working with contract management systems (CMS).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Ability to read Mandarin Chinese, a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of contracts in a fast‑moving environment.
- Willingness and ability to work Pacific Time (PST) hours.
Location & Work Arrangement
- Remote, with strong preference for candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone.
- Local to Southern California is ideal.
- Remote‑with‑travel is an acceptable alternative for strong candidates.
