Position: Field Engineer (MSP)
Location: Fairfield, NJ
Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Reports to: Engineering Manager / CEO
Compensation: Competitive base + performance incentives + growth-based bonuses
What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll be the face of Fabre Tech onsite. You’ll handle everything from end-user support to infrastructure troubleshooting and project execution.
- Provide onsite and remote end-user support (hardware, software, and connectivity issues).
- Troubleshoot and support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) environments.
- Diagnose and resolve wireless and network issues (connectivity, VLANs, DHCP, signal optimization).
- Perform server troubleshooting (Windows Server, AD, DNS, Group Policy).
- Execute onsite project work:
- New office setups
- Workstation deployments
- Network equipment installs (switches, firewalls, access points)
- Assist with user onboarding/offboarding (accounts, permissions, device setup).
- Work closely with internal teams (L1/L2/L3) to escalate and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure a white-glove client experience during every onsite visit.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in an MSP or IT support environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- End-user support (Windows 10/11, laptops, desktops)
- Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting
- Basic to intermediate networking (WiFi, switches, firewalls)
- Windows Server fundamentals (AD, DNS, DHCP)
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate tech into plain English for clients.
- Comfortable working onsite, independently, and representing the company professionally.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client environments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Unifi, Meraki, SonicWall, or Aruba wireless environments.
- Familiarity with Intune or mobile device management (MDM).
- Experience with MSP tools.
- Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell).
- Previous project deployment experience (office moves, network rollouts).
