About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Software Engineer to join our Mission Networks team in Melbourne, FL. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of modern, secure, reliable, and resilient telecommunications networks and information management systems. You will support the FAA and other external clients by enhancing existing applications, developing new tools, and resolving operational issues across a wide range of technologies, including Java, JavaScript, C#, .NET, web applications, services, and databases. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and design to implementation, integration, and testing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring operational excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 0 to 2 years of experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience without a degree are also encouraged to apply. Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust Clearance is required. Preferred additional skills include proficiency in JavaScript, JQuery, XML, web services (REST, SOAP), scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and experience verifying design compliance with specifications. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to write well-designed, testable, and efficient code and possess strong collaborative skills to coach team members effectively.
Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain computer software systems and applications supporting mission-critical telecommunications networks.
  • Engage in hands-on coding using high-level languages such as Java, C#/.NET, and SQL, primarily working with Oracle databases and web-based applications.
  • Deploy, support, and troubleshoot enterprise applications in a 24x7 operational environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet technical, security, and operational requirements.
  • Verify that designs and implementations are compliant with specifications and industry standards.
  • Assist in resolving operational issues and providing ongoing support for existing applications and services.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into development processes.
