Position Summary
Reporting to the Lead Technical Product Manager Pharmacy Operations, the Pharmacy Operations Product Manager is responsible for defining, improving, and scaling the systems that power dispensing, inventory, shipping, and fulfillment operations. This role partners closely with pharmacists, operations, engineering, and compliance teams to translate real world workflows into dependable, compliant, and efficient product solutions. Success in this role requires strong product judgment, direct operational engagement, and the ability to balance patient safety, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.
We are seeking a Pharmacy Operations Product Manager to support the product team. This position plays a critical role in delivering high value, sustainable pharmacy operations products, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Owns the pharmacy operations product surface, including dispensing workflows, inventory management, shipping, fulfillment, and operational dashboards that support day-to-day pharmacy execution
  • Observes pharmacy operations centers to observe workflows, shadows pharmacists and operations staff, and develops deep, practical domain expertise
  • Translates operational observations and pharmacy domain knowledge into clear, actionable product requirements, specifications, and documentation that engineering teams can implement effectively
  • Partners closely with pharmacy and operations leadership to align on priorities, communicate product roadmaps, and ensure product investments support operational and business goals
  • Incorporates AI tools directly into the product development workflow to accelerate requirements drafting, synthesize research and feedback, and prototype operational workflows
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability by proactively surfacing workflow gaps, system limitations, and automation opportunities
  • Acts as a trusted product counterpart for pharmacy operations, balancing regulatory requirements, patient safety, and operational realities while delivering products that work in real-world pharmacy environments

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing or related field OR equivalent practical experience (Required)
  • Licensure/Certification: None
  • Experience:
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in product management or an adjacent role (Required)
  • Experience owning a project end-to-end with meaningful trade-off decisions (Required)
  • Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, logistics, supply chain, or operations (Preferred)
  • Experience building products for non-technical or frontline users (Preferred)
  • Experience in regulated or high-stakes environments (Preferred)
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic product management fundamentals (what a PM does, how to think through trade-offs) and operational environments and frontline worker contexts (Required)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, logistics, supply chain, or operations industry; regulated or high-stakes environments where errors have real consequences; and AI productivity tools, including prompt driven drafting, synthesis, and rapid prototyping
  • (Preferred)
  • Basic product skills (discovery, trade-off reasoning, working with engineering) (Required)
  • Ability to operate with a high level of ownership, initiative, and accountability while learning and mastering a new or evolving domain (Required)
  • Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, building trust with pharmacists, operations staff, and operations leadership (Required)
  • Ability to directly observe operations and learn operational needs, translating observed inefficiencies and pain points into actionable product specifications (Required)
  • Ability to write specifications and requirements for complex operational workflows (Preferred)
  • Ability to navigate regulated environments with appropriate care and attention to risk (Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate roadmap and priorities clearly to non-technical operations partners (Preferred)

Work Environment

  • Location: On-site (Columbus, OH or Mesa, AZ)
  • Schedule: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday with night and weekend hours on occasion as determined by the needs of the business and cross-facility travel as needed
  • Regular meetings with internal pharmacists, fulfillment, shipping, Engineering, and Operations Leadership teams.

Key Essential Functions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while writing or reviewing documentation
  • Must be able to work on a computer for the entire shift
  • Must be able to attend virtual meetings with cross-functional teams
