Medical Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical office operations. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Duties

• Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing professional and courteous front desk support.
• Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing information.
• Collect patient demographic data and update medical records with precision and confidentiality.
• Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to handle inquiries and appointment confirmations.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Facilitate insurance verification processes to ensure timely reimbursement for services rendered.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a medical environment is required, with familiarity in clinic or hospital settings preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
• Strong organizational skills combined with clerical experience in a busy front desk setting are crucial for success.
