Sr. Technical Support Engineer - Adsorbents
The Sr. Technical Support Engineer - Adsorbents (with a strong background in adsorbents) will be a key enabler of Honeywell Industrial Solutions (IS) growth by leading the adoption of unique adsorbent solutions, including new adsorbent products and technologies, by our customers. With our innovative offerings, your deep technical knowledge of adsorbents and business acumen will enable you to create designs and value propositions that unlock value for our customers in innovative ways. In this role, you will connect with various stakeholders (business, sales, services, marketing, breakthrough initiative counterparts, etc.) to ensure value for our customers, internal alignment, and profitable business growth that empowers IS.
This role will allow you to contribute to a broader perspective across different applications of adsorbent technologies, while also giving you the opportunity to deep dive into specific applications, using and expanding your technical knowledge. You will be part of a highly collaborative global team focused on driving growth in a key strategic area for Honeywell. YOU MUST HAVE:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Refining, Petrochemicals, or Gas Processing including Sales, Technical Sales, Technical Service, Engineering experience.

- Provide adsorbent design assistance and consultation to sales personnel especially on unique or new opportunities.
- Review adsorption units process drawing and operating procedures.
- Enhance customer relationship through positive customer interactions and service-oriented attitude.
- Provide or lead on-site service efforts on customer’s adsorption unit for drying and purifying various streams in the processing industries for the purpose of preventative maintenance, optimization, troubleshooting and improving design correlations.
- Prepare and provide customer presentations and written reports of onsite efforts.
- Conduct on-site pilot testing to help develop improved adsorbents.
- Ability to learn and use portable analytical equipment at customer sites.
- Participate in customer and contractor meetings as required.
- Ensure adsorbent related content is represented in sales events where appropriate.
Attention to job safety and conducting the job in a safe manner is a requirement.
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Experience related to adsorption technologies such as molecular sieves and aluminas is considered ideal.
- Prior field experience, utilization of analytical equipment in refinery, petrochemical and natural gas technologies is desirable.
- Ability to travel 35% of the time, both domestic and international, sometimes on short notice.
- Willing to work weekends, holidays and long hours at customer sites.
- Demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, problem solving and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle a multitude of tasks concurrently.
Physical inspection requiring climbing up, confine space entry to pressure vessels, customer sites is sometimes part of the job.
Unique Aspects of the Position (Travel, Overseas, Overtime, Work Hours, etc.):
An average of 35% travel is required, primarily within Americas sites, with some travel to other regions. 50-75% of travel can be scheduled and planned in advance. Hours may be subject to plant schedule requiring flexibility to meet customer needs.
