Data Analyst

Data Analyst

Department: Systems

Reports to: VP of Systems

Location: Ogden, UT — on-site (no remote or hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

HydroJug is a fast-growing CPG company selling across Shopify DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart, Target, Costco, and wholesale. Our ERP (NetSuite) and data warehouse (BigQuery) are the backbone of every decision we make. When the data is clean, the business runs smoothly. When it isn't, everything downstream suffers.

We're hiring a Data Analyst to own the accuracy and trustworthiness of our data across NetSuite and BigQuery. This is not a reporting role and it's not a data engineering role — it's the person who makes sure the numbers leadership sees, the on-hand quantities purchasing relies on, and the sales figures demand planners forecast from are
*correct*
. If you see a $0.01 variance in a reconciliation and can't stop thinking about it until you find it, this is your role.

What You'll Do

- Monitor data quality daily
across NetSuite and BigQuery. Build dashboards and alerts that surface broken records, orphaned transactions, missing fields, and duplicates before anyone else notices.
- Reconcile between systems.
When NetSuite and BigQuery disagree, find the root cause and fix the pipeline or process creating the mismatch — not just the symptom.
- Own master data quality
for items, customers, and vendors. Keep SKUs, UPCs, classifications, and hierarchies accurate and deduplicated.
- Clean up legacy issues
from a prioritized backlog — duplicate records, bad mappings, inconsistently-used fields.
- Build upstream controls
with the teams creating data (ops, finance, purchasing, e-comm) so bad data doesn't enter in the first place.
- Answer ad-hoc data questions
from across the company. When someone asks "why does this number look wrong?", you're the person who can actually answer.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years working with ERP and/or data warehouse data
  • Working proficiency in SQL — you can write and reason through queries independently
  • Working proficiency in Node.js — you can write scripts to move, validate, and transform data between systems
  • Obsessive attention to detail — you don't paper over discrepancies
  • Strong written communication — you can explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Systems thinking — you understand a data quality problem is usually a process problem in disguise

Preferred (hands-on experience with any of these moves you to the top of the pile)

- NetSuite
(SuiteQL, saved searches, transaction flow)
- BigQuery
- Shopify
(products, orders, variants, metafields)
- Amazon Seller/Vendor Central
(FBA, settlement reports, ASIN/SKU mapping)
- CPG or omnichannel retail background
- Comfort using AI tools like Claude Code daily — we lean on these heavily

Not required

  • CS degree or traditional technical background. We care about how you think, not where you went to school.
  • Deep software engineering experience — this role is primarily data work with scripting support, not application development.

How to Apply

Submit your resume along with a short written response (a few paragraphs) describing a data quality problem you've personally solved: what it was, how you found it, how you fixed it, and how you prevented it from happening again. We evaluate primarily on business problem-solving and written communication.
