Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
Kubernetes Platform Engineer
with 10+ years of overall IT experience and strong expertise in
DevOps, Azure, OpenShift, CI/CD, and platform engineering
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enabling development teams to onboard applications onto enterprise Kubernetes platforms in a streamlined and standardized way. This role requires strong hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, container platforms, automation, and developer support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and guide application development teams in onboarding their applications onto the Kubernetes platform using standard and streamlined processes.
- Collaborate with Development, Platform Engineering, Operations, and Release Engineering teams to design and improve platform solutions that enhance developer experience and accelerate platform adoption.
- Drive cloud-native development best practices and help teams build scalable, resilient, and containerized applications.
- Partner with Release Engineering teams to implement and promote GitOps practices for version-controlled deployments and automated infrastructure management.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for Kubernetes-based applications, platform configurations, container deployments, and connectivity issues.
- Develop and maintain onboarding guides, platform documentation, best practices, and practical implementation examples for engineering teams.
- Conduct technical training sessions and workshops to help teams adopt Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native capabilities effectively.
- Collect feedback from development teams and continuously improve platform onboarding processes, tooling, and support models.
- Contribute to platform reliability, automation, scalability, and operational excellence across enterprise container ecosystems.
Required Skills And Experience
- 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong background in software engineering, DevOps, and platform engineering.
- Hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, OpenShift, containers, and enterprise platform onboarding.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud platform and cloud-native application architecture.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar automation platforms.
- Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD for deployment automation and configuration management.
- Knowledge of observability tools for monitoring, logging, alerting, metrics, and tracing in Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Go, Python, Java, Node.js, or Shell scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with containerized workloads, Kubernetes deployments, and platform support.
- Good understanding of DevOps practices, automation, scalability, resiliency, and developer enablement.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with container security best practices, image scanning, and Kubernetes RBAC.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of Helm charts, OpenShift Operators, and CNCF ecosystem tools.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise platform environments supporting multiple development teams.
