DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a technology team in Toronto. You will drive DevOps initiatives, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and support cloud-native infrastructure within a large financial services environment.
What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain custom CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI
• Lead DevOps initiatives and mentor team members on best practices
• Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes across Azure, OpenShift, and AWS
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and services using Python, Groovy, or JavaScript
• Support microservices architecture built on Spring Framework and Maven
• Manage message broker integrations using RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Work with SQL databases such as Postgres and NoSQL solutions such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch
• Apply knowledge of multi-threading, scaling, concurrency, caching, and distributed data storage
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams in an Agile delivery environment

What You Bring

• 5 or more years of experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD tooling
• Proven experience leading DevOps initiatives and mentoring team members
• Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes across cloud platforms
• Solid development background in Python, Groovy, or JavaScript
• Experience with microservices architecture and Spring Framework
• Knowledge of message brokers, relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts including scaling, caching, and concurrency
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in an Agile environment

Nice to have

• Experience in banking or financial services environments
• Exposure to infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms

Work setup

• 6 month contract based in Toronto, ON
• 4 days onsite per week
• Mandatory background check required before onboarding
