Role Summary
As a Staff Software Engineer at JamLabs, you will lead the design and delivery of high-performance, real-time systems that power financial data products and AI-enabled client solutions. You will operate at the frontier of AI-assisted software development, leveraging large language models as a core part of your engineering workflow, and produce output that reflects the rigor and reliability demanded by institutional financial clients. You will also play a senior technical role in building JamLabs' own SaaS products.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, high-performance systems that ingest, process, and analyze high-volume financial data streams
- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI-powered features and data products, from technical design through deployment and client acceptance
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools including Claude and other frontier models as a first-class part of your engineering practice, critically evaluating, refactoring, and validating AI-generated code to production standards
- Design and implement agentic workflows and LLM-integrated components for client-facing financial applications
- Maintain current Anthropic and AWS certifications as required by JamLabs
- Collaborate directly with client technical teams and present architectural decisions to senior client stakeholders where required
- Mentor intermediate engineers in AI-augmented development practices, code quality, and systems thinking
- Contribute to the architecture and iterative development of JamLabs' internal SaaS product portfolio
- Champion engineering best practices including robust testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in backend systems and full-stack delivery
- Deep proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with strong working knowledge of React for frontend delivery
- Expertise in cloud-native data warehousing platforms, specifically Snowflake, including performance tuning and advanced SQL proficiency
- Hands-on experience with real-time or streaming data systems such as Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent
- Extensive experience with AWS, with certification required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire; familiarity with GCP an asset
- Proven ability to use large language models, particularly Claude, as an active engineering tool, with demonstrated judgment in evaluating, testing, and hardening AI-generated output
- Experience building and deploying production-grade applications on cloud infrastructure using containerization and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Familiarity with financial data, capital markets systems, or fintech applications strongly preferred
- Anthropic Claude Certified Architect certification required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire
