Our Staff Test Engineer plays a defining role in maintaining that standard.

Role Summary

The Staff Test Engineer owns the quality engineering practice at JamLabs. You will design and implement the testing strategy, frameworks, and standards that apply across all client engagements and internal product work. This role requires fluency with AI-assisted testing: you will evaluate, adapt, and govern the use of AI tools in test generation, validation, and QA processes. You will lead a team of test engineers, contribute to client delivery directly, and ensure that JamLabs' testing practices are among the most rigorous in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own JamLabs' testing strategy and quality engineering standards across all projects and products
• Design, implement, and continuously improve automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, data pipelines, and AI-integrated systems
• Evaluate and govern the use of AI tools including Claude in test case generation, test data synthesis, and output validation, establishing standards for when AI-assisted testing is appropriate and how its outputs are verified
• Lead testing and validation of data solutions on cloud platforms including AWS and GCP, with a strong emphasis on automation
• Build and maintain integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end test suites across client and internal SaaS projects
• Manage and mentor test engineers and establish a consistent, organization-wide culture of quality
• Own CI/CD testing integration and quality gates, ensuring testing practices support rapid and reliable delivery
• Facilitate UAT processes with client stakeholders including senior technical and business users at major global financial institutions
• Identify, triage, and drive resolution of system defects across the full product lifecycle
• Maintain Anthropic Claude certification and AWS certification, and guide the test engineering team in obtaining relevant credentials

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years in software quality engineering with at least 2 years in a lead or principal capacity
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks, with proficiency in test tooling for NodeJS/React and Python-based systems
• Strong command of CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Proven experience testing cloud-native systems on AWS and/or GCP, with AWS certification required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire
• Fluency with AI development and testing tools, with demonstrated ability to use large language models as part of testing workflows and to critically evaluate AI-generated test artifacts
• Experience testing data pipelines, streaming systems, or financial applications strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills with experience facilitating UAT and quality conversations with client stakeholders at varying technical levels
• Anthropic Claude Certified Architect certification required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire
• Experience in financial services, capital markets, or regulated data environments is a strong asset
