Position Summary
The IT/Business Systems Analyst supports IT operations, end-user technology, cybersecurity compliance, and governance activities in a regulated defense manufacturing environment. This position provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, assists with Information System Security Officer (ISSO) responsibilities, supports efforts to obtain and maintain CMMC compliance, and contributes to IT asset, vendor, and project management activities.
The role works closely with senior IT, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders and is well-suited for a technically capable professional seeking to grow in IT operations, compliance, and security within a small, mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & End User Support

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for IT infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and the company intranet.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and standard enterprise applications, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Assist with system upgrades, patching, deployments, and hardware refresh initiatives.
  • Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the IT service management system.
  • Support end users in a high-stakes operational environment with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining service quality.

Information Security & Compliance Support (ISSO)
Classified Systems – NIST 800-53 & RMF Support

  • Assist with Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for classified systems, including security control implementation, continuous monitoring, and system authorization support.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and other compliance documentation in accordance with NIST SP 800-53 requirements.
  • Support security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and audit preparation for classified environments under the guidance of the Information System Security Manager.

Non-Classified Production Environment – CMMC Program Support

  • Support implementation and sustainment of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program for non-classified systems.
  • Assist with documenting security practices, collecting evidence, tracking remediation activities, and ensuring audit readiness for CMMC compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align operational processes with CMMC requirements and reinforce secure practices across the production environment.

IT Asset, Vendor & Procurement Support

  • Maintain and update IT asset inventory, ensuring accuracy, lifecycle tracking, and compliance with security and audit requirements.
  • Assist with Software Asset Management (SAM) activities, including license tracking, renewals, usage monitoring, and compliance support.
  • Support procurement activities for IT hardware, software, and services.
  • Help track IT contracts and invoices and assist with reporting related to renewals, vendor performance, and budget planning.
  • Support maintenance of standard hardware configurations for desktops and mobile devices, including Windows OS migrations and evaluation of approved device models.

Intranet & Systems Support

  • Provide administration and support for the company’s standalone intranet, ensuring availability, usability, appropriate access, and effective content governance.
  • Assist with updates, enhancements, and user access requests in coordination with IT leadership and business stakeholders.

Reporting & Project Support

  • Assist in gathering requirements, documenting scope, and tracking tasks for IT projects.
  • Proactively identify risks, escalate concerns, and support mitigation planning to help ensure projects remain aligned with budget and schedule.
  • Analyze data using Excel and other tools to support IT operations, asset management, and financial or operational reporting.
  • Prepare routine reports and assist with presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance (required).
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, IT operations, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and end-user hardware.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with structured or semi-structured datasets.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to users at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess issues, follow procedures, and escalate appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks or compliance environments (e.g., CMMC, NIST, ISO).
  • Experience in defense, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
  • Interest in growing into IT governance, cybersecurity, or compliance-focused roles.
