BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Primary responsibilities will be to assist in the preparation of the legal reserves and tabulation of same. This role will assist in the preparation of the defense of lawsuits or claims primarily within Product Liability. Inclusive responsibilities will be the creation, updating and maintenance of new files and existing files in database.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

• Create, update and maintain new files and existing files in Serengeti database, including but not limited to: reviewing all email & hard copy mail from all external sources, determining which needs to be electronically filed, and filing into databases to keep all active dealership, PL, Warranty, Subrogation, CPSC, and Regulatory matters current.
• Create new file invoicing information, generate and update invoicing data re outside counsel, experts, and other fee and cost requirements for the dealership, PL, warranty and subrogation matters that are open and active.
• Review existing hard copy Legal files, scanning active file information into existing electronic databases.
• Review existing hard copy Legal files & closing files that are no longer active/have been settled, resolved, etc.; arranging to have closed files shipped; arranging to have closed files scanned if appropriate for current legal needs.
• Review all existing electronic shared drive Legal file folders determining which files are active and which need to be closed.
• Maintain Legal Department Calendar; Assist with discovery on active files, including coordinating with KBT and various Kubota entities for documents; Maintain and update PL charts and other incident data; Maintain & update open legal matter Excel charts for quarterly audit reporting.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law preferred.

• In lieu of degree Paralegal degree or Certificate and 6 years of experience preparing for product liability litigation required.
• With degree 3 years of experience preparing for product liability litigation required.

• At least 4 years’ experience with handling defense litigation, preferably product liability experience and associated experience with Federal and State Courts and procedures.
• At least 3 years of managing outside counsel required.
• At least 3 years of invoice management preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite including but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):
Office equipment including computer, copier, and phone, printer.
