The restaurant industry is one of the hardest businesses in the world to run. Operators pour everything they have into their restaurants — and most of them are still managing their back office on instinct, spreadsheets, and sheer force of will. MarginEdge exists to change that.
We work with 12,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada, giving operators real visibility into their costs, vendors, and performance in real time. We've grown rapidly and consistently, the foundation is strong, and the opportunity ahead is enormous. We've barely scratched the surface of what's possible — and we're looking for a
Chief Product Officer
to help us figure out what this company becomes next.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a chance to set the vision, build the strategy, and lead a world-class product organization at a company that already has the scale, the trust, and the momentum to make a real dent in an industry that deserves it.
We have a preference for being in office four days a week, however we will consider candidates outside of the area with an expectation of spending significant time at our headquarters in Arlington, VA.
What’s it like to work for MarginEdge?
As a team built by former (and current!) restaurant operators, our mission is to bring operators the same energy, attention to detail, and passion that they bring to their guests. Our culture is deeply rooted in service, partially because that’s where so many of our team come from (including everyone on our Business Development team), but also because we believe it is just the right way to run a business. We design our software with profound empathy for the complexity of running a restaurant, and the goal of making the magic just a little easier for operators by taking the complex (very annoying) back office tasks off their plate, while empowering them with real-time data.
Our founders share a deep history in both owning and operating restaurants and in building successful tech companies. We are venture-backed and serve 12,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada.
We enable restaurants to make magic while knowing we are doing the same for them.
We have the utmost respect for our clients and because of this, we are unable to hire their current employees.
What type of responsibilities will I have?
This is a true seat at the table. You'll report directly to the CEO and partner closely with a leadership team that is deeply invested in both the mission and the product. You'll own product vision and strategy for the entire company — not just the roadmap, but the thinking that shapes where we go and why.
You'll lead nine cross-functional product squads, each made up of a product manager, a product designer, and engineers. You'll set the direction, build a culture of excellence and urgency, and create the conditions for those teams to do the best work of their careers.
Specifically, You Will

  • Define and drive a bold, multi-year product strategy grounded in deep customer understanding, and translate it into a roadmap that balances customer impact, business outcomes, and technical reality
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing product team — coaching PMs and designers to excel while instilling a culture of outcomes over output, continuous discovery, and relentless customer empathy
  • Own product execution across nine squads — ensuring teams are moving fast, measuring what matters, and shipping work that drives real adoption and engagement
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and our CTO to align on priorities, accelerate go-to-market, and maximize impact
  • Lead monetization strategy, expand revenue streams, and own Net Revenue Retention KPIs

What qualifications or skills are required?
You've spent meaningful time in or around the restaurant industry — as an operator, in restaurant tech, or working closely enough with restaurants that you genuinely feel the weight of their challenges. You don't need to be sold on why this problem matters. That passion is already in you.
You're ready for full ownership of product at the company level — setting the vision, not executing someone else's. You think in strategies and systems, not just features and sprints, and you're looking to step into a role where your impact is felt across the entire business.
Beyond That, We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has 15+ years in Product Management with 10+ years leading PMs and designers, ideally in Restaurant Tech or a closely adjacent space
  • Has scaled a product org within a high-growth B2B SaaS company and knows what good looks like at each stage
  • Uses both qualitative and quantitative insight to drive roadmap decisions and measure outcomes
  • Has a track record of successful PLG strategy and strong collaboration with Customer Success and Go-to-Market teams
  • Will push us to think bigger — and tell us when we're wrong

Benefits (Shut The Front Door, They Are Amazing)
In order to fuel this rocket ship, we need to build a team as passionate about our work and product as we are. We believe that top talent (that’s you!) should feel deeply connected to their work, appreciated for the time they give to building our organization and have the balance necessary to give their best during work hours and all those after-hours too. We do this by offering a suite of kick ass benefits not only to be competitive and catch the eye of super smart people (that’s you again!) but also provide the foundation for a career you love and a life outside of work you love just as much.

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off (and we mean it, we encourage your healthy work life balance!)
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Short/Long-Term Disability Insurance (preventative care for the win)
  • Health Savings Account with employer match (dependent upon your medical plan selection)
  • Commuter benefits with employer contribution (excluding limos and helos - for now)
  • Generous Life Insurance Plan
  • Short- and Long-term Disability
  • Company-Paid Holidays
  • 401(k) and matching
  • Stock Options to buy into everything we are doing to support this industry
  • 12-week fully Paid Parental Leave
  • Lunch catered twice a week at our HQ in Arlington (we exclusively cater from our clients, too!
  • A wellness program that sponsors healthy activities such as step challenges and provides discounts to gyms and fitness classes.
