A prominent Trial firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3–10 years of experience to support a growing practice focused on complex, multi-party civil litigation matters. This role offers hands-on experience across discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation, with significant opportunities for early courtroom exposure.
The firm handles sophisticated matters for both private clients and insurers, with a strong emphasis on complex litigation rather than high-volume or routine cases.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation & Case Strategy
- Handle all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
- Conduct and defend depositions (required for more senior candidates)
Discovery & Case Management
- Manage written discovery, document review, and production
- Analyze case facts and develop litigation strategy
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
Trial & Court Exposure
- Participate in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings
- Gain early exposure to trial work and client interaction
- Support mediation and settlement negotiations
Qualifications
Required
- 2–10 years of experience in civil litigation
- Background in business litigation and/or insurance defense
- Strong experience with discovery and motion practice
- Deposition experience (required for more senior candidates)
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Active membership in the California Bar
Compensation & Work Schedule
