Senior UX Designer – ServiceNow Platform
Role Overview
We are looking for candidates with a
strong UX background
to join McKesson as a
Senior UX Designer
supporting our enterprise ServiceNow platform.
While ServiceNow experience is required, this is fundamentally a UX‑focused role
centered on designing intuitive, consistent, and accessible user experiences aligned to
business outcomes, platform governance, and enterprise UX principles
.
This role is a
senior individual contributor
position with
no people management responsibilities
. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in
enterprise UX, service design, and platform experience design
, and will collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners to ensure user needs are embedded throughout planning, design, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
UX Design & Experience Delivery
- Lead UX design efforts for
enterprise user experiences
within the ServiceNow platform, including portals, workspaces, and workflows.
- Design user‑centered solutions that are
intuitive, consistent, accessible, and scalable
across enterprise use cases.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into
clear, effective, and user‑focused designs
.
UX Standards, Consistency & Accessibility
- Apply enterprise
UX principles, design standards, and usability best practices
to all ServiceNow‑related work.
- Ensure UX designs meet
accessibility and usability expectations
and support a consistent experience across the platform.
- Participate in UX reviews to provide feedback and ensure alignment with enterprise UX guidelines.
Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Delivery
- Partner with Business Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Developers to incorporate UX thinking from
intake through delivery
.
- Advocate for user needs and ensure UX considerations are integrated into platform and solution decision‑making.
- Collaborate effectively in a
fast‑paced enterprise environment
with multiple concurrent initiatives.
Workshops, Research & Design Enablement
- Facilitate and participate in
UX workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder working sessions
to align on experience goals.
- Contribute to experience research activities such as
journey mapping, workflow design, and experience validation
.
- Promote
user‑centered design practices
and share UX best practices related to enterprise platforms and ServiceNow.
Senior Individual Contributor Expectations
- Operate with a
high degree of autonomy
and accountability for UX outcomes.
- Influence design decisions through expertise, communication, and collaboration—
without formal authority
.
- Balance UX quality with delivery timelines and platform constraints.
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires
7+ years of relevant professional experience
, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong UX background
with demonstrated experience in user experience design, product design, experience design, or service design.
- Hands‑on experience working with the ServiceNow platform
, supporting UX design for portals, workspaces, workflows, or employee/agent experiences.
- Experience operating as a
senior individual contributor
in a large, complex enterprise environment.
- Proven ability to convert complex business and technical requirements into intuitive, user‑centered experiences.
- Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Experience facilitating UX or design workshops using tools such as
Miro, whiteboarding tools, PowerPoint, or similar
.
- Solid understanding of
usability, accessibility, and enterprise UX principles
.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for
enterprise platforms or internal tools
.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow UX areas such as
Service Portal, Workspaces, or Now Experience
.
- Exposure to
UX standards, design systems, or accessibility practices
in an enterprise setting.
Certifications
- ServiceNow certifications are a plus but not required.
- UX or design‑related certifications are considered an asset.
