The Lead Product Owner partners deeply with Engineering, Architecture, Quality, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to ensure problems are clearly defined, solutions are technically sound, regulatory requirements are met, and customer value is delivered predictably at scale. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, drives complex cross‑team dependencies, and sets the standard for product ownership excellence while mentoring other Product Owners.
This position requires strong domain expertise, technical fluency, and the ability to balance strategic intent with hands‑on execution in a fast‑moving, high‑impact environment.

- End‑to‑end ownership of complex clinical and billing product domains, driving initiatives from concept through production release with minimal oversight
- Strong engineering partnership resulting in efficient sequencing, reliable delivery, and well‑designed, scalable solutions
- High‑quality delivery with a strong quality mindset—meeting sprint commitments, Definition of Done, and regulatory obligations with low defect leakage
- Clear alignment of product goals, OKRs, and backlog priorities across leadership, business, compliance, and delivery teams
- Continuous product evolution informed by customer feedback, lifecycle stage, regulatory change, and business priorities
- Increased product delivery maturity through mentoring and coaching of Product Owners and influencing best practices across the organization
Key Responsibilities:

- Clinical charting (Problems & Diagnoses)
- Charge Capture and Billing workflows
- Scheduling
- Content ingestion into IKM
- Message Center
- Maintain and continuously groom a prioritized backlog that balances new capabilities, enhancements, technical debt, maintenance, and regulatory needs
- Translate business, clinical, billing, regulatory, and non‑functional requirements into high‑quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Define release strategy, value‑based slicing, and incremental delivery plans to maximize customer and business impact
- Drive estimation, sequencing, and scope trade‑off discussions with engineering partners
Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Represent the voice of the customer in prioritization, sprint planning, reviews, and release discussions
- Proactively identify, manage, and communicate complex dependencies across product, engineering, quality, compliance, and operational teams
- Engage Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure audit‑ready delivery
- Coordinate with PMO to align to and influence best‑practice standards for the Product Owner role
Quality, Risk & Operational Excellence
- Lead UAT strategy and execution, refining development and testing practices to reduce risk and defects prior to release
- Own defect backlog and triage process for assigned product areas; partner with Support and Account teams to ensure transparency and resolution
- Identify, assess, and actively socialize delivery risks (in partnership with the Scrum Master)
- Support CAPA‑level documentation and remediation activities as required
Coaching & Mentorship
- Mentor and coach Product Owners on backlog management, refinement practices, stakeholder engagement, and delivery execution
- Serve as a role model for strong product discipline, customer empathy, and outcome‑driven delivery
Minimum Requirement
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
Critical Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, or Agile delivery roles
- Proven track record leading complex, cross‑functional product initiatives from concept through production release
- Demonstrated success operating in highly regulated environments (healthcare, clinical systems, billing, revenue cycle, or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of clinical workflows and billing concepts; experience with oncology, EHRs, or revenue cycle systems is a strong plus
Technical & Delivery Skills
- High degree of technical fluency, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and architects
