Summary:
Nisga’a Tek is seeking a
Multimedia Programmer IV/AI/ UX Designer (Functional Lead)
to independently lead the full lifecycle of government training development — from user research and interface design to multimedia production, SCORM/508 compliance, and AI-integrated courseware implementation.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:

  • Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently
  • Collaborate with other designers and cross-functional partners
  • Coach and mentor the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific project/task
  • Design responsive web applications and interfaces
  • Conduct and participate in generative and evaluative user research with direct access to internal users
  • Integrate media components in asynchronous, synchronous training products using approved government applications (i.e., captivate, articulate, rise, storyline etc.)
  • The contractor will be expected to leverage AI to create more effective and engaging medical training
  • Establishes, generates, and maintains tracking of all relevant files, documents, and correspondence relative to requests for and delivery of training
  • Handles logistics of providing training materials, files, and equipment
  • Responsible for the testing, certification, and maintenance processes for numerous and varying courses.
  • Process large volumes of data and performs data reduction and editing, conducts Internet searches to support informational requests
  • Perform education related technology tasks to include 508 compliance, SCORM compliance (ADL test suite), operability/playability troubleshooting and repair, hosting system compatibility, etc. These tasks require some limited programming skills demonstrating functional knowledge of Java, HTML, XML, as it applies to computer-based training design and development
  • Provide programming support throughout the Project Development life cycle phases that serve both the development and implementation of courseware and multimedia products
  • Provide programming and multimedia support for training development projects
  • Implement training applications on various computing platforms and equipment configurations using government-approved software development tools
  • Modify, test and/or program training products using government approved multimedia applications.
  • Design and modify code of interactive multimedia instruction to run in various user environments, such as low-and high-bandwidth Internet, and networked electronic classrooms
  • Serve as subject matter expert in selecting and recommending the proper combination of government-approved software programs and tools to meet complex learner needs, including the integration of AI-powered learning tools
  • Provide support for course, SCORM implementation, learning management systems, and other software programs identified in each individual task order
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable user insights for your team
  • Design flows that are intuitive, elegant, and provide value for our end users
  • Deliver production-ready designs and documentation and collaborate with instructional designers, developers, and subject matter experts to see designs through to implementation
  • Utilize and contribute to our organization’s design brand
  • Able to articulate and defend design decisions to peers, partners, and leaders; a storyteller

Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • UX Designer Skills & Capabilities :
  • Have expert skills in visual/UI design and prototyping tools (Figma or equivalent)
  • Experience with a variety of methods, including interviewing, observation, diary studies, card sorting, tree testing, task analysis, and surveys
  • Programming Skills & Capabilities
  • Programming SCORM conformant content packages (3rd and 4th editions)
  • Multimedia/interactive content development Artificial Intelligence Applications, such as natural language processing and machine learning, as they apply to medical training.
  • Technical maintenance of courseware in accordance with user environment requirements
  • Course programming
  • Interoperability with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Articulate 350 (Storyline, Rise)
  • Experience in developing AI-powered adaptive learning systems for medical education is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 15+ years of experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working within a DoD Center of Excellence, with a strong preference for experience at MEDCoE. Proven leadership capabilities within a Center of Excellence environment

Pay And Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $115,000 to $120,000.
