Medical Front Desk Receptionist & Translator
Position Summary
The Medical Front Desk Receptionist & Translator is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients while ensuring the smooth operation of the front office. This role includes patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payment processing, and administrative support. The position also requires providing translation services to assist non-English speaking patients in communicating effectively with medical staff and understanding their care.
Key Responsibilities: Front Desk Receptionist Duties - Patient Check-In and Check-Out
- Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
- Verify and update patient demographic information.
- Check patients into the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure required documents and consent forms are completed.
- Process patient check-out after appointments.
Appointment Scheduling
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Coordinate appointments with providers and clinical staff.
- Manage provider schedules and ensure appointment accuracy.
- Send appointment reminders to patients.
Phone and Communication Management
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, procedures, or office policies.
- Direct calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Return patient messages and follow up when needed.
Insurance Verification
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage.
- Update insurance information in the system.
- Identify and document insurance alerts or special instructions.
- Inform patients of any coverage issues prior to appointments.
Payment Processing
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Process payments using approved payment systems.
- Issue receipts and maintain accurate payment records.
- Reconcile daily payments and notify the Front Desk Manager at the end of the day.
Patient Records Management
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Scan, file, and upload documents into the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality policies.
Administrative Support
- Assist with filing, faxing, photocopying, and document organization.
- Prepare patient paperwork and intake forms.
- Maintain office supplies for the front desk area.
Patient Assistance
- Assist patients with completing forms and paperwork.
- Provide directions within the clinic and answer general questions.
- Address patient concerns and ensure a positive patient experience.
Office Maintenance
- Ensure the reception area and waiting room are clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Maintain front desk organization and efficiency.
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns.
Additional Requirements
- Must be reliable, professional, and patient-focused
- Must be willing and able to commute between our four office locations as needed
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
