The Warehouse Receiving and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all inbound shipments, ensuring materials and products are received accurately, inspected for quality and properly documented in the inventory system, managing and optimizing the movement of goods, materials, and inventory throughout the supply chain. This role ensures efficient warehouse operations by coordinating receiving schedules, verifying documentation, and maintaining a clean and organized receiving area, timely, accurate, and cost-effective transportation and delivery by coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate and manage all incoming shipments, including unloading, inspection, and verification of materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Arrange transportation of goods via parcel or truck, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customers to confirm delivery times and resolve shipping issues.
· Accurately record and update received items in the warehouse management or ERP system.
· Communicate discrepancies, damages, or missing items to purchasing, suppliers, and management promptly.
· Schedule and prioritize incoming deliveries to maintain workflow efficiency and minimize congestion.
· Collaborate with inventory control and purchasing teams to resolve receiving or inventory issues.
· Maintain accurate records of receiving activities, including shipment logs and documentation for audits.
· Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper material handling procedures.
· Assist with periodic inventory counts and cycle counts.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse accuracy and efficiency.
· Prepare and maintain accurate documentation such as bills of lading and shipping manifests.
· Track and analyze shipment performance, reporting on key logistics metrics (on-time delivery, freight costs, etc.).
· During times of low volume, lead ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
· 3–5 years of experience in customer engagement, logistics coordination, or operations management
· Experience with meal distribution, foodservice, or government nutrition programs preferred
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and digital)
· Proficiency in CRM tools, route tracking software, and reporting dashboards
· Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable leading cross-functional collaboration
