## What You'll Do
The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to business needs. Serves as the technical lead on multiple complex and high-priority projects. Works closely with the Information Technology (IT) architecture, operations, and project management teams to scope, estimate, and provide overall technical guidance for assigned solutions/opportunities. Analyzes existing systems and process and provides input on ways to improve processes and system infrastructure. Provides detailed documentation for implemented solutions and necessary knowledge base articles to allow for operational and ongoing support. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to understand and break down complex problems.
Employee Core Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and evaluation of technology solutions to provide input on technology direction to ensure Pantex is utilizing best in class technologies and practices in support of its missions.
- Identify and work with team of engineers and architects to identify areas for automation and application of Software Development and IT Operations (DevOps) principles.
- Work with IT and various business partners on cloud based technologies and how cloud could be utilized as part of solutions.
- Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, and maintainable.
- Works with IT project management organization to deliver solutions on schedule.
- Tracks and documents requirements for enterprise development projects.
- Monitors current and future trends in technology which will positively affect organizational projects.
- Acts as the senior technical resources for organization projects.
- Works with enterprise architects to develop solutions which align to organization and mission needs.
- Responsible for working with IT project management organization to allocate assigned labor/budget resources to execute project tasks.
- Work effectively as part of an architecture team providing technical guidance to the business.
- Ability to interact with senior leadership and customers to promote current technologies and solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Supports and promotes an environment which relies on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to take larger projects and break them down into manageable work units.
- Evaluate Cyber Security implications of solutions and technologies.

## Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science discipline.
- Master's degree in engineering/science discipline.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

## Preferred Job Requirements
Candidates should possess in-depth technical experience and broad knowledge across many of the following areas:
- Architecture: Creating logical/physical architecture diagrams and data flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar tools, identifying and planning system integrations, performing complexity assessments.
- Cloud Platforms & Services: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, M365 and related Microsoft cloud services.
- Operating Systems: Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Databases: SQL Server, Oracle.
- Virtualization: VMWare (server virtualization), VMWare Horizon (desktop virtualization).
- Security & Compliance: Strong cybersecurity background, vulnerability management tools (Tenable, Nessus), DISA STIGs, PKI certificates, Managed Service Accounts, Active Directory (AD), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SAML, OIDC).
- Networking & Infrastructure: General networking skills, experience with Operational Technology (OT) networks is desirable.
- Monitoring & Logging: Enterprise log management (Splunk), system monitoring/alerting tools (Netreo, SolarWinds).
- Enterprise Applications: SAP, PeopleSoft.
- Application Hosting & Development: IIS, JBOSS, Apache Tomcat, .Net, Java, Oracle APEX, REST APIs.
- IT Service Management & Automation: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, ServiceNow, PowerShell scripting.
- The candidate must also have the ability to present technical and operational information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word, solve complex technical problems, and be alert to changes that may affect the security and operational environment of systems.
