Real Estate Controller Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a local privately held real estate investment organization who is seeking a Real Estate Controller to join their team. The Real Estate Controller will manage a growing portfolio of 90+ properties across 35+ legal entities. The Real Estate Controller will serve as the anchor for the organization reporting to the CFO and own the end-to-end accounting functions as you bring order and clarity to a complex and growing portfolio. The ideal Real Estate Controller has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, has a CPA license active or inactive, and has previous leadership experience with a background in Real Estate utilizing Yardi for accounting functions. The Real Estate Controller is a full time, direct hire position in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Real Estate Controller Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive The Completion of Migration From Spectra to Yardi Voyager, Clearing The Reconciliation Backlog
• Establish Monthly Close Procedures For Reconciliation of Bank Accounts
• Oversee & Ensure Completion of AP/AR & Create Standards For Accuracy
• Manage The Accounting Cycle For Multiple Entities Ensuring Income Tax Reporting Accuracy & Future Investors
• Oversee Completion of Cash Management For Multiple Institutions & Manage Operating & Reserve Accounts
• Modernize Outdated Workflows & Design Robust Control Framework to Support In-House Teams & Outsourced Support
• Keep Track of Tenant Rent Rolls, CAM Reconciliations, & CapEx Tracking For a Diverse Real Estate Portfolio
• Lead & Manage a Small Team of Staff Accountants While Providing Oversight of Outsourced Partners

Real Estate Controller Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required
• Active or Inactive CPA is a Must or Has Extensive Big 4 Experience Within The Real Estate Sector
• 7+ Years of Extensive Accounting Experience With at Least 5 Years of Controller or Senior Leadership
• Fluent in Income Tax & GAAP Reporting
• Must Have Previous Real Estate or Property Management Experience With Multi-Entry Consolidation & Intercompany Accounting
• Solid Knowledge of Yardi Voyager With Experience Leading a System “Clean Up”
• Delivers Excellent Attention to Detail & Communication Skills
