IT Security Analyst

- About the Opportunity:
The IT Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing security incidents within the network and systems, identifying compromised elements, and implementing remediation measures. This role involves assessing security risks, supporting vulnerability management, conducting security audits, and contributing to the development and improvement of network security tools and procedures. The position plays a critical role in protecting organizational assets and maintaining compliance with relevant security standards.
- Responsibilities:
• Analyze security incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Collect and use intrusion data to mitigate cybersecurity threats
• Monitor external sources to stay informed of current threat conditions
• Conduct and manage vulnerability and anti-virus programs
• Manage penetration testing and assist in remediation efforts
• Conduct software security reviews and perform internal and external audits
• Report audit findings and submit cybersecurity defense reports
• Research, test, recommend, and plan implementation of security software and devices
• Analyze software applications to ensure they meet security requirements
• Examine network topologies and recommend improvements
- Requirements:
• Associates Degree or equivalent in a computer-related field
• 1-3 years of experience in an IT Security role
• Strong customer service and IT knowledge
• Preferred certifications: Network+, Security+, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent
• Experience in healthcare or software industries preferred
• Familiarity with HIPAA and STIG compliance
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Experience with SIEM (Splunk), DLP (Forcepoint), log review, STIG standards, vulnerability management (Tenable), penetration testing, AV management, software security evaluation, and Python
• Must pass government and healthcare security clearances
• U.S. citizenship required for government-related work
• Ability to obtain Public Trust background investigation and Department of Defense network account
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
