Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Salary: $75,000 to $95,000 per year

As a Systems Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Security Operations Center (SOC). Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Technical Expertise: Serve as the Security Team’s technical expert, providing guidance and support to junior team members and addressing escalated security incidents to ensure swift and effective resolution.
• Vulnerability Management: Implement and remediate vulnerability fixes for firewalls, servers, and cloud infrastructure, and conduct regular audits of toolset deployment for both our internal systems and those of our clients.
• Automation and Scripting: Automate tasks using PowerShell or Command Line scripts to enhance operational efficiency.
• Security Assessments: Engage in Security Risk Assessments and Penetration Testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Disaster Recovery: Conduct annual Disaster Recovery testing for internal systems and client networks, and maintain, monitor, and restore backups for our systems and client environments.
• Mentorship and Training: Provide mentorship and training to junior staff, fostering skill development and collaboration within the team.

Qualifications:

• Essential Experience:
• At least 3-4 years of combined experience in systems engineering including expertise in networking infrastructure, server infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Basics of PowerShell and Command Line Scripting.
• Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with backup management processes and disaster recovery strategies.
• Basic understanding of security principles and tools, with a strong interest in developing expertise in security-related tasks.
• Familiarity with RMM tools such as ConnectWise Automate, SolarWinds N-central, or Kaseya VSA is preferred. These tools are essential for monitoring and managing IT infrastructure efficiently.
• Certifications (any of these) are highly preferred but not mandatory:
• While not required, possessing certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft Server, CCNA, or CompTIA Security+ will be advantageous and highly regarded.
