About The Role
Whova is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer to join our remote team in Illinois. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the design, implementation, and maintenance of test automation systems. Your responsibilities will include creating and refining testing tools and infrastructure used for feature verification and regression testing. You will work closely with product teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and develop comprehensive test plans. Your efforts will contribute to all aspects of product quality, including performance, user experience, and reliability. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in software quality assurance, including manual and automated testing
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and best practices
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks for web and mobile applications
- Familiarity with source control management, build processes, and continuous integration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong collaboration skills and proactive team-oriented mindset
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing strategies quickly
Responsibilities
- Help product owners define clear, understandable, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria
- Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test objectives
- Design, automate, and sustain manual and automated regression test suites
- Enhance testing automation tools and infrastructure to improve efficiency
- Investigate product issues to identify root causes and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent project execution and quality standards
- Stay current with emerging testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices
