About The Role
The Video Editor plays a crucial role within the Career Technical Education (CTE) Content department by producing high-quality videos that enhance our curriculum and promote Stukent's products. Working closely with the Senior Video Production Lead and the CTE content team, the successful candidate will transform raw footage into engaging, polished, and accessible visual content. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual capable of applying artistic principles, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and adhering to brand standards and technical specifications. The Video Editor will be responsible for editing raw footage, incorporating graphics, animations, and sound effects, and ensuring the final product aligns with the educational goals and quality expectations of the company. This position offers the flexibility of working on-site in Lexington, KY, or remotely within reasonable driving distance, with a preference for candidates located in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, or Tennessee.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in video editing and motion graphics software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Davinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
- Experience in editing raw footage into engaging videos
- Strong understanding of branding standards and style guides
- Ability to incorporate graphics, animations, text overlays, and sound effects effectively
- Knowledge of audio mixing techniques, including background noise removal, sound effects, and level balancing
- Experience in creating templated assets for team use
- Excellent communication skills and active listening abilities
- Proven ability to accept constructive feedback and perform under tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills, including managing multiple projects and maintaining backup files
- Continuous learner mindset to stay updated on emerging trends and tools in video editing
Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage to produce polished and engaging videos aligned with curriculum and brand standards
- Apply artistic principles to create original media, including animations, visual effects, and motion graphics
- Incorporate graphics, text overlays, and sound effects to enhance visual storytelling
- Perform audio mixing tasks such as noise reduction, sound effects insertion, and level balancing
- Add music and voiceovers as appropriate to support instructional content
- Implement transitions, including fades, cuts, and wipes, to ensure smooth visual flow
- Create and maintain templated assets for consistent use across projects
- Review and revise videos based on stakeholder feedback to meet quality standards
- Export videos in appropriate formats and resolutions, ensuring optimal file size and quality
- Organize project files systematically, including version control and backups
- Stay informed about new editing tools, techniques, and industry trends to continually improve output
