About The Role
As a UX/UI Designer at Zoic Labs, you will play a vital role in supporting the visual development and design of tools across multiple platforms, including web, desktop, and occasionally XR environments. You will be involved in transforming early conceptual ideas into polished, user-friendly final designs. The ideal candidate is someone eager to explore complex domains such as aerospace, capable of simplifying intricate interactions into intuitive and meaningful user experiences. You will collaborate closely with product managers, subject matter experts, engineers, and fellow designers, reporting directly to our core design team and creative director. This position emphasizes adaptability, effective communication, and a proactive approach to design challenges. The role is project-based, with an anticipated start date between May 2026 and July 2026, and may extend beyond this period based on project needs.
Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Figma, including component systems, libraries, styles, and variables
  • Basic understanding of design token workflows
  • Knowledge of interaction design patterns for enterprise software such as charts, filtering, and data tables
  • Experience working within and adhering to an existing design system
  • Fundamental understanding of human-computer interaction psychology principles
  • Solid graphic design fundamentals and information design skills
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Updated portfolio demonstrating UI/UX skills in digital products
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present and articulate design rationales
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience using Jira for project management
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, subject matter experts, engineers, and fellow designers to develop cohesive design solutions
  • Contribute to and maintain component libraries in Figma for consistency across projects
  • Create low to high fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize concepts and facilitate testing
  • Present and defend design concepts to lead designers and engineering teams, clearly explaining the rationale behind design decisions
  • Support the development of user interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with project goals
  • Assist in refining design workflows and processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to enhance final deliverables
  • Ensure all designs adhere to project specifications, branding guidelines, and usability standards
