About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI Platform team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI agents and automation solutions that address real-world challenges across our engineering, product, and healthcare delivery organizations. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from various departments, including engineering, product management, and healthcare professionals, to understand their workflows, identify opportunities for automation, and deliver end-to-end solutions. Your expertise in machine learning and agentic AI will directly influence how HealthEdge builds software, delivers value to customers, and operates at scale. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare and cutting-edge AI technology, making a meaningful difference in patient care and healthcare operations.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
- 2–4 years of experience building and deploying machine learning or AI systems in production environments.
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Experience working with large language model (LLM) APIs, agentic frameworks such as LangChain or Strands, and prompt engineering techniques.
- Solid understanding of traditional machine learning frameworks like PyTorch and scikit-learn.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including version control, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and full development lifecycle management.
- Interest or familiarity with healthcare data, clinical workflows, electronic health records (EHR), and regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex datasets.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A builder mindset with enthusiasm for transforming ideas into functional solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, accept feedback, and contribute to team success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI agents and automation solutions that enhance internal engineering workflows and customer-facing processes, overseeing the entire lifecycle from problem discovery to production deployment.
- Create reusable libraries, prompt templates, tool-use patterns, and evaluation scaffolding to support the AI platform’s growth and robustness.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI functionalities seamlessly into existing software infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Partner with product managers, implementation consultants, engineers, and business teams to identify pain points, scope solutions, and iterate toward measurable outcomes.
- Stay current with advancements in large language models, agentic frameworks, machine learning, and healthcare technology, applying new knowledge to foster innovation.
- Optimize AI systems for accuracy, latency, cost-effectiveness, and safety, with particular attention to human-in-the-loop design and healthcare-specific guardrails.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of model development processes, methodologies, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Support continuous improvement of AI solutions through performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and iterative enhancements.
