Role description

Location Preference: Seattle Fraud SME – Banking & Financial Risk (Telco Integration Focus) Role Overview We are looking for a Fraud Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in banking and financial fraud to design and validate fraud detection use cases leveraging telecom data signals. Key Responsibilities • Define fraud typologies (account takeover, SIM swap fraud, transaction fraud, identity theft, etc.) • Map telecom data signals (location, SIM, device, usage patterns) to financial fraud scenarios • Design rule-based and hybrid fraud detection frameworks (rules + ML) • Collaborate with data scientists to define features, labels, and model validation approaches • Establish fraud detection strategies balancing precision vs recall vs customer experience • Support creation of risk scoring logic, thresholds, and ing frameworks • Validate model outputs and reduce false positives/negatives • Align with compliance teams on AML, KYC, and regulatory expectations Required Qualifications • 10–15+ years in Banking/Payments Fraud Risk Management • Deep expertise in transaction fraud, digital fraud, and financial crime • Experience with fraud platforms (Actimize, SAS, FICO, Featurespace, etc.) • Strong understanding of customer behavior, transaction flows, and fraud patterns • Ability to translate fraud scenarios into data-driven detection strategies Preferred • Experience working with telecom datasets or telco partnerships • Exposure to real-time fraud decisioning systems • Knowledge of SIM swap, device spoofing, and network-based fraud signals
