DUTIES
Tyonek Native Corporation is seeking a Proposal Solutions Architect to drive the development of innovative, mission-focused solutions and high-quality technical proposal content for primarily Department of War (DOW) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) opportunities. This writing-intensive position is integral to the Capture and Proposal Team, tasked with shaping technical solutions, developing compliant response strategies, and articulating Tyonek's value proposition in alignment with diverse customer mission sets.
The Proposal Solutions Architect plays a hands-on role in managing writing assignments, ensuring proposal sections are clear, compelling, and technically robust. Success in this role requires a detail-oriented, analytical thinker who proactively collaborates with technical and leadership teams, transforms complex information into well-structured narrative, and thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
This position is located at Tyonek's Madison, AL administration facility, co-located with the leadership team, operations team, and key functional groups.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Support solutioning sessions for major proposals by collaborating with the Capture Team to develop approaches aligned with customer requirements.
  • Draft and edit technical and management sections for proposals.
  • Work closely with the Capture Team to align solutions with customer expectations and mission sets.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather, interpret, and integrate technical content into proposal documents.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and language into clear, compliant, and compelling written responses.
  • Develop and articulate win themes, value propositions, and solution narratives tailored to solicitation requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of compliance matrices and response outlines to ensure proposals meet RFP instructions and evaluation criteria.
  • Participate in internal review processes (such as color team reviews), incorporate feedback, and refine drafts as needed.
  • Conduct targeted research to integrate relevant program, platform, or system expertise into proposal content.
  • Manage multiple writing assignments concurrently, prioritize tasks, and support overlapping deadlines across active proposals.
  • Perform additional proposal-related duties as assigned to support Tyonek's business development objectives.

  • Excellent time and resource management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines, with the flexibility to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Future-focused on enhancing processes to meet industry standards and use of proposal tools/systems for knowledge management, increased productivity of proposal teams and improved virtual proposal development.
  • Analytical focus with ability to work with capture managers and executive leadership to identify risks, issues, and solutions related to pursuits, proposals, competitive range discussions, and protests.
  • Strong problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are essential.

Preferred Skills And Experience
*Candidates who bring any of the following key skills or experience will be considered highly competitive:*

  • Prior experience supporting complex proposals, developing Work Breakdown Structures, and participating in solutioning for IDIQs or Task Orders aimed at new business capture.
  • Working knowledge of DOW weapon systems, platforms, or mission sets.
  • Familiarity with capture strategy development or early-phase proposal shaping.
  • Successful prior collaboration with military subject matter experts or engineers.
  • Strong working knowledge of current AI-assisted writing, research, and content-generation applications, with an ability to apply these capabilities ethically and effectively within proposal development environments.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or fifteen (15) years of technical experience as a Project/Program Manager in lieu of a degree.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience, or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
  • Proven written communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly in a proposal or government context.
  • Familiarity with Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Experience working with technical staff to gather and organize content for proposal responses.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Federal acquisition process and ability to successfully interpret and respond to competitive RFPs. Understanding of the acquisition life cycle phases of Federal contracts and programs; familiarity with the US Government task order and RFP development process, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements, and evaluation process.
  • Ability to analyze RFP requirements and synthesize information to support proposal development. Understanding of Shipley processes for managing and writing proposals is a major plus.
  • Must be highly computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (TEAMS, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to produce reports, presentations, correspondence, and a variety of other materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership of federal market proposal groups and operations.
  • Demonstrated record of managing winning proposals within the federal market ranging from $10M-$100M+.
  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
