Investment Product Manager, Index Equity

The Portfolio Review Department (PRD) ensures Vanguard’s investment offer stays healthy, relevant, and focused on helping clients reach their investment goals. As an Investment Product Manager on the Index Equity Product team, you’ll partner closely with Vanguard’s portfolio management, distribution, and marketing teams to assess product health, inform strategy, and help bring new solutions to market.
Vanguard is the industry’s largest index equity provider, with 50+ years of indexing expertise, a deep bench of global investment professionals, and a disciplined, time‑tested approach to tracking benchmarks with precision. Our Index Equity team oversees 150+ mutual funds, ETFs, and CITs. The team is engaged on notable initiatives—including ongoing product evaluations and ETF launches—giving you visibility into intro high‑impact product decisions.
Responsibilities:

• Manages projects from inception though implementation ensuring project deadlines are met. Defines project scope and requirements, establishes timelines, and ensures completion of deliverables. Manages various projects related to Index Equity Investment Product initiatives. Coordinates activities of various vanguard areas to support Index Equity Investment Product initiatives.
• Conducts analyses of Index Equity Investment Product issues confronting Vanguard's product line-up. Leverages and manages cross-functional teams as required. Prepares and presents strategic analysis and recommendations to senior management at various forums.
• Supports high impact client engagements as a product subject matter expert
• Attends and presents at industry conferences and client specific events related Index Equity Investment Products.
• Leverages the client and sales feedback on Index Equity Investment Products in order to assess product health and drive ongoing product improvements and positioning.
• Supports the creation of dynamic content used to position Vanguard Index Equity Investment Products and to respond to investor queries.
• Creates and facilitates internal training and communications including training on launches and changes to existing Index Equity Investment Products. Ensures coordination and consistency of product-related marketing initiatives and external communications across divisions.
• Contributes to business line research agendas to enhance client experience and business results.
• Stays current on industry, market, product, and competitive trends in the local markets supported.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Five years related work experience, including three years experience in product management or investment analysis/strategy roles. Investment experience preferred.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
• FINRA series 7 and 63 or the ability to obtain them within first 3 months.
• CFA preferred.
