Senior Software Engineer (Cloud)

00, United StatesRemotePart TimeSeniorPosted 1 day ago

We are a product-led company building a focused, consumer-facing system designed around clarity, trust, and long-term reliability. Our work avoids noise and unnecessary complexity. We prioritize structure, discipline, and systems that behave predictably at scale.

The company operates with small teams, high standards, and direct communication. Decisions are made deliberately, and technology choices are driven by long-term correctness rather than speed for its own sake.

If you value simplicity over novelty, ownership over ambiguity, and building durable systems instead of shipping features for their own sake, this environment will suit you.

What makes us different?

We design with restraint.

The product surface is intentionally simple. Most of the real work happens behind the scenes through automation, internal tooling, and carefully structured processes.

We keep teams lean, reduce manual intervention wherever possible, and hold a high bar for architectural clarity and system integrity.

Growth is not achieved by adding layers. It is achieved by removing friction.

The Role

We’re looking for a User Experience Designer who is both a UI design expert and a storyteller at heart. You’ll transform product requirements and user stories into elegant, emotionally engaging experiences — crafting the full journey from research to flow to final interface. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to bring Verri’s mission to life through exceptional design systems, high-fidelity interfaces, and thoughtful storytelling. This is a remote, hands-on creative role within a fast-moving, early-stage climate-tech startup.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Discovery

  • Conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, surveys, usability testing, analytics)
  • Translate insights into personas, journey maps, and opportunity areas
  • Collaborate with product managers to refine user stories and product requirements
  • Advocate for user empathy and ethical design throughout the process

Experience Design

  • Transform user stories into clear, intuitive experience flows
  • Design for the entire experience — from onboarding to transactions and trust flows
  • Prototype and iterate rapidly using Figma and Miro

UI & Visual Craft

  • Deliver high-fidelity, production-ready UI designs
  • Create and maintain Figma component libraries and design systems
  • Elevate emotional storytelling through typography, layout, motion, and hierarchy
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility and inclusive design standards
  • Partner with engineers for pixel-perfect handoff and QA

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and marketing
  • Present design rationale to stakeholders
  • Participate in agile sprints and roadmap planning
  • Contribute to product vision and the future of carbon markets

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of UX/UI experience
  • Strong Mobile design portfolio
  • Expertise in UI design and visual systems
  • proficiency in Figma (design, prototyping, design systems)
  • Strong user research and synthesis skills
  • Experience designing end-to-end product experiences
  • Understanding of accessibility and ethical UX
  • Excellent communication and collaboration
  • Comfort working remotely and asynchronously

Preferred

  • Experience in marketplaces, fintech, or climate tech
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools
  • Motion design or micro interaction experience
  • Interest in sustainability and systems thinking

How Success Is Measured

  • Improved usability metrics (conversion, task completion, retention)
  • Design quality and consistency
  • Positive qualitative user feedback
  • Speed and quality of design iteration
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration
