About Zonda Home Canada
Zonda is redefining the future of housing. We are perfectly placed in the heart of the fast-growing real estate industry. We are making big bets on the future of real-estate, trailblazing a 2030 vision for the industry. Here at Zonda, you’ll be able to use your passion and curiosity to drive the next generation of real estate analysts, advisors, and technologists.
Zonda looks for people who can grow, think, dream, and create. When you join our team, you’ll be in a unique position to make a change with every project. Our teams are innovative, diverse, multidisciplinary, and collaborative, all working to build the future of housing.
Role Overview
We are looking for a forward-thinking QA Engineer who treats AI as a first-class teammate. In this role you will partner closely with the IRIS Research product team to deeply understand their user workflows, then design and deliver AI-assisted end-to-end automation coverage using Playwright (including Playwright Test Agents), integrated directly into our CI/CD pipelines.
The ideal candidate pairs strong QA fundamentals with hands-on experience using Claude (Claude Code) and/or GitHub Copilot to accelerate test authoring, uses Postman with AI assistance to build and maintain API test scripts, and has practical experience running Playwright agent loops (Planner, Generator, Healer) to generate, execute, and self-heal test suites.
What You’ll Do
IRIS Happy-Path Automation (First 90 Days)

  • Embed with the IRIS Research team to shadow analysts and stakeholders, document critical user workflows, and translate them into a prioritized happy-path test catalogue.
  • Build out a full happy-path end-to-end automation suite in Playwright that runs on every pull request and deployment through our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Use Playwright Test Agents (Planner, Generator, Healer) together with Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot to draft Markdown test plans, generate executable specs, and auto-heal broken locators and flaky flows.
  • Establish seed tests, fixtures, and reusable page objects so that AI agents can reliably extend coverage over time.

AI-Assisted Test Automation

  • Author and maintain Playwright test suites in TypeScript, using Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to accelerate authoring, refactoring, and debugging.
  • Run Playwright Planner agents against new features to produce structured Markdown specs under specs/, then drive the Generator agent to create one-to-one test files under tests/.
  • Operate Healer loops to triage failures, patch locators and waits, and keep the suite green without degrading assertion quality.
  • Use AI to generate synthetic test data, negative-path variants, and accessibility checks that extend beyond the happy path over time.

API Testing with Postman + AI

  • Design, build, and maintain Postman collections for IRIS and adjacent services, including environments, pre-request scripts, and response assertions.
  • Use Postman’s AI features (Postbot) alongside Claude or Copilot to generate test scripts, contract validations, and data-driven runs from OpenAPI specs or captured traffic.
  • Integrate Postman collections into CI/CD through Newman so API regression runs execute alongside UI tests on every build.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering

  • Integrate Playwright and Postman/Newman suites into our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) with clear gating, reporting, and trace artifacts.
  • Produce meaningful dashboards and reports (pass rates, flake rates, healer interventions, coverage deltas) that surface risk and status to engineering and product leadership.
  • Drive a shift-left mindset, engaging at the ideation and story-refinement phases so testability and AI-assisted automation are designed in, not bolted on.
  • Perform scheduled post-release QA validation during off-hours deployments when required.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with the IRIS product owner, developers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, SLA/OLA expectations, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs in Jira; investigate production issues surfaced by users or support.
  • Contribute to internal AI tooling runbooks (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Playwright agents) and share patterns with the broader engineering organization.
  • Stay current on emerging AI-assisted QA practices and proactively propose improvements.

Who You AreRequired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, including fixtures, projects, parallelism, and trace viewer.
  • Practical experience with Playwright Test Agents (Planner, Generator, Healer), or demonstrable hands-on knowledge of the agentic loop documented at https://playwright.dev/docs/test-agents.
  • Working experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude (Claude Code) and/or GitHub Copilot to build and maintain automation code in real projects, not just toy examples.
  • Strong working relationship with Postman, including collections, environments, scripting, and Newman in CI; experience using AI (Postbot, Claude, Copilot) to generate and evolve Postman test scripts.
  • Solid TypeScript or JavaScript skills; comfort reading and writing automation code without heavy framework scaffolding.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) with reporting and artifact capture.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and validating data in SQL databases.
  • Working experience with GitHub and modern pull-request workflows.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to other automation tools such as Cypress, Puppeteer, Selenium, or JMeter.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with BDD, TDD, and contract testing approaches.
  • Familiarity with real estate, proptech, or research/analytics domains.
  • Experience building internal runbooks or enablement materials for AI-assisted development workflows.

How You Work

  • Treat AI tools as collaborators: you review, challenge, and refine AI output rather than rubber-stamping it.
  • Meticulous attention to detail balanced with pragmatism about where to invest automation effort.
  • Thrive in an agile environment with 2-week sprints, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong quality mindset and genuine commitment to customer outcomes.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 90 days: full happy-path Playwright coverage of the core IRIS Research user workflows is running on every CI build, generated and maintained with the support of Playwright Test Agents and AI coding assistants.
  • Within 6 months: API regression coverage via Postman/Newman is integrated into CI, healer-assisted maintenance keeps the suite green, and reporting clearly communicates quality trends to leadership.
  • Ongoing: you are a visible champion of AI-assisted QA practices, contributing patterns and runbooks that raise the bar across the engineering organization.
